A&K tie plates add to the stability of trackwork, lengthen the life of wood ties, and provide uniform wear on the rail head. Tie plates are available in single, double shoulder, and pandrol designs. A&K maintains a vast inventory of new and quality relay tie plates.

Tie plates are made for corresponding rail sizes, including the rail's width. They are used to provide support and prevent rail movement. They also reduce friction between the rail and the railroad tie, preventing excessive wear and tear of ties that prolong their life.
